Expansion

The article's fine as a short entry, but I know there's plenty of info out there which an greatly expand it... is someone up for the challenge?

This article overlaps significantly with the Alfred Beach article. - Richard E 13:34, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cobble Hill Tunnel[edit]

This article currently claims:

Several similar tunnels were found under Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn New York. A locomotive is being sought.[citation needed]

I suspect this is referring to the Cobble Hill Tunnel under Atlantic Avenue which was used by steam locomotives not by vacuum/air pressure locomotives, but was nevertheless an early "subway" tunnel in Brooklyn's history (before Brooklyn was a part of New York City). Can someone find a reliable source to back the claims made in the two sentences? Are they referring to the Cobble Hill Tunnel? Who is looking for a locomotive and why is it relevant to this Beach article? Should the Cobble Hill Tunnel instead be mentioned in the History of the New York City Subway article or perhaps the History of New York City transportation article (or both)? 67.86.73.252 (talk) 01:22, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's unlikely that the locomotive comment is relevant here at all. The Beach train was a loose car driven by fans that were part of the tunnel: there was no locomotive car in any sense and I can't find any reference that suggests that future enhancements would have had one either. I'm removing that phrase. DMacks (talk) 19:45, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect reference in popular culture[edit]

Atomic Robo vol. 6 is "The Ghost of Station X". It's vol. 5 that is "The Deadly art of Science". Not owning either of these graphic novels, I'm not sure which the article should be referring to. 24.2.150.6 (talk) 10:54, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I tagged the item. Hopefully someone will be able to verify which one is intended there. DMacks (talk) 14:21, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
