Trivia

Moved Trivia to talk: {Trivia|date=June 2007}

  • The Beaufort High School "Seadogs" hold the North Carolina Boys High School basketball record. From 1959-1961, they won 91 straight games over three seasons, including three consecutive state basketball championships-NCHSAA (North Carolina High School Athletic Association). The seniors on the first state championship team of 1959 were Allen Autry, Sr., Larry Dudley (team manager) Sammy Merrill, Frank Potter and Leon Thomas.
  • In 1996, the town became famous when it was reported that the famed pirate Blackbeard's ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge had been found. The ship had run aground in Beaufort Inlet, North Carolina. The discovery has made Beaufort a fairly large tourist attraction for Carteret County.

I think, the trivia concerning Nicholas Sparks should be removed to the article page. He's a so successful and famous author - indeed important enough. However, not only this named book but almost all of his books take place there. It has to be added accordingly. --80.129.125.117 (talk) 03:36, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
The author is clearly notable, but how is that a significant element of the town and its history? Perhaps weave it in a culture section you may be volunteering to write? Toddst1 (talk) 20:02, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Beaufort

There is something quite unlogical in these "Beaufort sister cities". It does not include the Belfort (disambiguation) and half of the Beaufort (in any case all those located in the south of France) were Belfort too, before the French spelling Beau- became more or less compulsery. History

Needs a history section. This might be a good start: http://nchistory.web.unc.edu/beaufort-north-carolina-2/ since it has citations. Should also add something about Michael_J._Smith_(astronaut) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.85.230.123 (talk) 18:47, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
