Intro sentence

[edit]

There are way too many alternate spellings in the intro sentence. Someone familiar with the topic ought to fix this. --Wafulz 22:02, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree

[edit]

So what if there are a lot of alternate spellings? Transliteration from Hebrew is always shaky, so the alternate spellings are necessary. -- 71.167.168.54 23:57, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Note November 19 2010 from Sammy Finkelman:

Furthermore, alternate spellings are actually a good idea in a place like a Wikpedia article. People search for information much more so than they look up an article. Having a variety of spellings makes it more likely an article will be found. Google does this sometimes automatically, but Wikipedia can't count on that.

The person will discover alternate spellings he or she should have been using to search— Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.2.60.88 (talkcontribs) [1][2]
