Please source this content as soon as possible. In the meantime, don't be a trigger happy idiot. The fact that unsourced material can be challenged and removed does not mean it should. Feel free to challenge anything you don't like, but remember the good faith policy of Wikipedia. I respectfully request that we, as a community, try to utilize some common sense-if you can't find anything to challenge, then there isn't anything that needs a source. Deletionism is unhealthy for both one's self (as it is a strong indicator of latent psychopathic tendencies) and for the encyclopedia (as it often serves only to remove accurate, helpful content on the basis of little more than technicalities). Sourcing is a way to prove things. Don't warp it to give yourself a reason to go around deleting things that don't need to be proved (e.g. bed frames can be made of wood or metal-I think most four-year-olds could verify that, but maybe somebody would like to challenge it and remove it?).Bronsonboy (talk) 04:55, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for calling me both an idiot and a psychopath - so much for good faith and no personal attacks. The material I deleted had been tagged as unsourced for years and there was no indication of its reliability. Moreover, parts of it are basically advertising. The whole thing smacks of original research. You might like to take a look at WP:BURDEN and the Jimmy Wales quote in the footnote there. I take your point about facts such as the materials used to make bed frames, however, but I think most of the material can reasonably be challenged. Anyway, I'll do as you wish and identify the most problematic sentences. If sources cannot be found, however, these need to be removed. Cordless Larry (talk) 16:20, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merging with article Bed

[edit]

I believe that this article should be merged with Bed. Andrew (talk) 03:59, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose – A Bed frame, Bed base, and Mattress are the three major components making up a typical Bed. The Bed article needs to be expanded to include a more complete overview linking together the 30 or so topics listed in the Template:Bedding navbox headings for Bed Types and Bed Components. Some summary discussion should relate to Bed sheet plus the Blankets and Pillows topics in the template.

Much of the Bed#Bed frames section should be moved to the Bed frame article here. A section should be added to Bed frame for Wood bed frames to parallel the Brass and Iron sections.

  • Oppose - If the other articles were stubs I could see merging everything into Bed but they're not. Enough content exists for a separate article. --NeilN talk to me 03:02, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support - In theory, I support having separate articles. But as written, the Bed frame article is a stub with the addition of two sections of questionable value (which combined are basically a "materials" write-up and could be condensed considerably). Meanwhile, the content at Bed#Bed frames is better organized and better written. As it currently would require a fundamental re-write to fix this article, I'm forced for now to support merging. If the Bed frame article is re-written, I would re-evaluate. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 17:12, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Did Aristotle philosophize about a wooden bed frame? "if a wooden bed frame is buried, anything that sprouts from it will be a tree and not a bed..."Level C (talk) 10:05, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

frame + base = ?

[edit]

Is there a name for a set of two elements: a bed frame and bed base? I mean a complete bed without a mattress. 85.193.228.103 (talk) 20:16, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
