For the two most recent re-creations:

Recreations[edit]

Why is it significant to list every recreation? Why is it significant to list any recreation except for the first? The list could eventually be longer than the article. I suggest limiting recreations to only the major orchestras and judiciously limiting it (to maybe 2-5 of the most significant although I'd prefer a single example). - kosboot (talk) 00:23, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It was an extraordinary concert, so its recreations are likely to attract significant coverage – which is what justifies listing them. Without it, they shouldn't be listed (e.g. 2018 Kaiserslautern, ). -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 04:37, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So you're stating that every recreation be listed? - kosboot (talk) 11:31, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's not what I wrote. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 11:41, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm asking because I find your response ambiguous and I'm trying to understand what you're arguing in favor of. - kosboot (talk) 11:50, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I wrote that concerts which received significant coverage ought to be listed; those that haven't, shouldn't. I wouldn't call that ambiguous but nuanced. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:46, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for clarifying what you wrote (which I still find ambiguous). Of course, any local orchestra that tries to replicate that concert is going to get reviews from local press, much more as a way to promote the resources of the orchestra and town than for any musical contribution, but I accept your point of view. Maybe when we get 50+ listings we might revisit the issue. - kosboot (talk) 14:55, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is significant, as well as useful, to list as many re-creations of this concert for academic interest, to have a convenient list in one readily accessible place. In addition, and perhaps more germane to the one point of concern, because of the sheer demands of this concert on any musical organisation and its perfomers, no matter how resource-rich, re-creations will still continue to be relatively rare. There is virtually no chance that the list will exceed the length of the article any time soon. Admittedly, in this Beethoven anniversary year, one would expect an uptick in the number of re-creations of this concert, and I am aware of 3 scheduled USA recreations for later in 2020 (Aspen Music Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra). But that is 3, not 300. However, COVID-19 may well render all this moot, depending on how the general situation plays out. DJRafe (talk) 21:28, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
