what?

[edit]

What does "Communist Party of China town" refer to? That the city obtained an administrative structure within the PRC? --Soman 11:49, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

the administration section is obvious a timeline or history of this city. so i place it under history. --User:24.199.99.9

Although obviously, it's only the town's recent history.
David Rumsey's old maps (by Arrowsmith) has a town around the vicinity of Beihai called 'Lientcheoufou' or 'Lien-tchou', apparently from an old name of the Nanliu River and probably looking something like Lianzhou in pinyin. If it's the same town, that should be mentioned and, if it was the former main town in the area and that status changed to Beihai for some reason, ditto.  — LlywelynII 07:45, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

English spoken?

[edit]

The 2nd para. reference to English "something that can also be said about English." is unclear. What is meant? It reads as if English is spoken throughout mainland China. That cannot be right. Uffe (talk) 22:07, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Growth prediction

[edit]

"Between the years 2006 and 2020, Beihai is predicted to be the world's fastest growing city."

I don't think the source should be taken seriously, with all the other cities below 5 percent, and then suddenly on top Beihai with over 10. Looks like the decimal point was placed in the wrong spot or something like that. 119.98.16.253 (talk) 04:44, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
