Alumni clarification

[edit]

Should we only include people who graduated? Or whould we also include famous people who just happened to attend a semester? And what about people who spent most of their time here, but dropped out. The years of attendance of the notable alumni should be clarified.Wellesradio 22:20, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Wellesradio[reply]

School Colors

[edit]

I thought there were entries here. That shows how much I know.

I graduated from BHS in 1965. I have made a few minor edits over the past few months. Most of them have been eliminated.

I have given up on the question of the school colors. When I attended, the school's colors were Purple and White. At the last two reunions the school's colors were Purple and White. Someone insists that the colors are Purple and Gold.

yeah, regarding the school colors they currently purple and gold. noting that i currently attend the school. idk if they were once purple and white but they —Preceding unsigned comment added by Swooshp (talkcontribs) 05:04, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

Last I checked they were purple and gold (I graduated in 1999). Perhaps when older students attend reunions the former colors are still used.Wellesradio 21:10, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Wellesradio[reply]

Mary Pickford?

[edit]

I do not know much about this school or Mary Pickford, but there seems to be some sort of discrepancy with the school's relationship with Pickford or the date the School was established. Pickford seems to have been 33-years old when the school is said to have been established. Either Mary Pickford had an unusual education, the schools establishment date is inaccurate, or Mary Pickford was not an Alumni. Does anyone know? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnteixeira (talkcontribs) 01:03, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was shocked to find this. Mary Pickford was Canadian for Chrissakes. It just so happens I went to Bell (I graduated in 1999. I never once heard her mentioned among the alumni) and I am a fan of her work (I never once read or saw any documentary mention any California education). She was 18 when she first came to California as an actress. She practically, pardon the cliche, lived out of a trunk. I doubt she had time to attend regular high school. What's more the school opened in 1925. She had been a film actress -in Hollywood anyway- since 1910! Johnteixeira is right. That would make her 33 at the time the school opened, by which time America's first Sweetheart was fabulously rich and famous (and celebrating her 5th wedding anniversary to Douglas Fairbanks to boot). So I think that ends that discussion. Stan Kenton was a fact, however. Wellesradio 22:17, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Wellesradio[reply]

Now that this entry has been cleaned up, how about "Efrain Flores, Legend"? I know, even legends in their own minds attend or attended High School but I would rather it were not mine. JimCubb 23:06, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm not taking it out. Wish I'd though ot if it, but I have something against making a spectacle of myself to those who know of my non-legend status. Cheeky.Wellesradio 23:10, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Wellesradio.[reply]

I'm removing the legend. He can be added after his status as a legend and an alumnus have been verified. Okay? JimCubb 20:40, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
