Thursday, May 9th, Obama Press Conference on Benghazi - "Ben Rhodes, without my authority or knowledge, altered the State Department account of what occurred on 9/11/12 in Benghazi." — Preceding unsigned comment added by S7rugg1e (talkcontribs) 18:23, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I EXPECTED that I'd find this recent “echo chamber” news item in the article, but even if not there, in the 'talk' page. Well, at least I was right in my latter guess. Well, if I am reading this comment correctly.
BUT if I'm not reading the comment above as intended, here is the new news on Rhodes:
"Jaws dropped in Washington’s tight-knit foreign policy community when Ben Rhodes, a deputy national security adviser and one of President Barack Obama’s closest aides, was quoted in the New York Times Magazine deriding the D.C. press corps and boasting of how he created an “echo chamber” to market the administration’s foreign policy." "The piece quotes Rhodes as ragging on the press corps (27-year-olds who “literally know nothing” other than political campaigns) and the foreign policy establishment (“the Blob”); boasting of how he manipulated reporters and commentators on the Iran nuclear deal (“We created an echo chamber,” with reporters “saying things that validated what we had given them to say”); and boosting his own status considerably (“I don’t know anymore where I begin and Obama ends”).
Why was an experienced operator like Rhodes saying these things to a reporter on the record? And does he believe what he was saying?" Source: http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/war_stories/2016/05/how_to_read_david_samuels_profile_of_obama_foreign_policy_aide_ben_rhodes.html
As I type this Rush Limbaugh is asking himself why this guy would attack allies (the news media press corps). Limbaugh says that the Obama administration is all about humiliating allies, but here are MY 2 questions:
1. Why hasn't Pres. Obama fired this guy for spouting off and diarrhea of the mouth?
2. Why did this guy run his mouth like this, knowing he could get fired and/or make a lot of friends angry?
3. BONUS #3: Why does the Wikipedia article not address this new news item??96.59.177.178 (talk) 18:25, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Observation

[edit]

I wonder if Wikipedia will be covering the The New York Times Magazine profile. (reference: [1])

Sure "it" will. As always, it's just a matter of somebody doing the work. --PanchoS (talk) 17:00, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, never mind... I was that 'somebody' else doing it. Fixed. (See article page for final result. CAVEAT: Slight format discrepancies e.g., inconsistencies, exist in regard whether the source, publishing the work, is italicized, or not. See "work=..." vs "publisher=..." in the code, and fix if needed.)96.59.177.178 (talk) 19:00, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies.. I had not completely read your comment here in 'Talk' when I posted above, lamenting the lack of much discussion on this topic.96.59.177.178 (talk) 18:26, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV: Iran Controversy

[edit]

Thoughts on the neutrality of this line? Rhodes admitted to having misled journalists regarding the correct timeline of U.S. negotiations with the recent Iran nuclear agreement, relying upon young, inexperienced reporters to create an “echo chamber” in order to sway public opinion to seal the deal. | MK17b | (talk) 23:50, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've semi-protected for 1 week in response to a recent persistent flurry of unsourced BLP violations from IP users. Thanks, Neutralitytalk 19:27, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

investigation of espionage against Americans

[edit]

Obama aide Ben Rhodes is now the focus of the House of Representative investigation of illegal unmasking of Americans during 2016 presidential campaign. The Intelligence Committee “found evidence that current and former government officials had easy access to U.S. person information and that it is possible that they used this information to achieve partisan political purposes, including the selective, anonymous leaking of such information,” [1] Let us eat lettuce (talk) 02:23, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
