Illinois

Illinois just passed a benefit corporation law (SB 2897) so it should be changed from yellow to green on the map. Bigturtle (talk) 14:10, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Several other states have passed legislation by now, too. I updated the history. However, the map is grossly out of date and should be updated or removed.asciiman (talk) 19:29, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
It was updated to 2013-02-09 data, but was then removed anyway by Jcy514. Restoring. --Elvey (talk) 01:07, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
Actually: Anyone think the rest of that users edits merit reversion? Seem revisionist - e.g. removal of "Over time most corporations came to be chartered without any direct public purpose, while their purpose degraded to one of being legally bound to the singular purpose of profit-maximization for its shareholders. " and extensive related material. Either that, or Jcy514's "Historically, United States corporate law has not been structured or tailored to address the situation of for-profit companies who wish to pursue a social or environmental mission." should be verifiable. --Elvey (talk) 01:33, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Vote for Deletion

  • Delete. I vote to delete the B corporation article for the following reasons. 1. The article reads as an advertisement for B Lab certification, which is not legally binding. This violates NPOV. 2. It is easily confused with benefit corporation, which is colloquially referred to as a B corp. If the vote to delete fails, I propose as an alternative to rename the article "B corporation (B Lab certification)". --Hierarchivist (talk) 17:25, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
