[edit]

Benzion is the name of the 'skin glue' used by plastic surgeons to help the tape applied to close surgical incisions. It is applied to the skin, then the tape placed on top of the benzion. Allergic reactions occur infrequently, which result in dark red skin color, pain and itching.

You are referring to Tincture of benzoin made from Benzoin resin, as explained at the top of the page. Whmice (talk) 09:31, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perfume

[edit]

The most known use of benzoin is in the manufacturing of perfume, it also has many medical uses, this article needs to be greatly appended as it is very poorly researched. It has a rich history in medicine and cosmetics and has many uses, very few were mentioned except the clinical ones. The dictionary.com definition is more comprehensive: "Also called gum benjamin, gum benzoin. a reddish-brown, aromatic balsamic resin occurring in almondlike fragments and having a vanilla-like odor, obtained from trees of the genus Styrax, especially S. benzoin, of Java, Sumatra, etc.: used in the manufacture of perfume and cosmetics and in medicine internally as an expectorant and externally as an antiseptic." @Pookerella: Article has been renamed for clarity, and a disamb page created: Benzoin. The article on the perfume that you want is likely to be Benzoin (resin). SilkTork (talk) 13:50, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
