= Common misconception in explanation=

[edit]
This intro explanation is based on perhaps the most common misconception in science. It is the sharp turn at the blower exit from linear motion to radial that causes a low pressure around the blower exit hole against the *upper* plate. Air has inertia and wants to continue straight [against the lower plate]. The decrease in pressure in that sharp turn is enough to create a region around the hole that is very low pressure- enough to completely offset the high dynamic pressure downward against the levitated plate and then some.

I corrected it.

There are papers showing this flow and pressure decrease that can be found under a search for "Bernoulli levitation"
