Civil War

[edit]

I find no evidence for the existence of any ironworks at Bersham before 1720. I. Edwards claimed that it goes back to 1670, but other sources inducate that it was built by Charles Lloyd of Dolobran and a member of the family of William Wood (Mintmaster) in or shortly before 1720. There was another furnace in nearby Esclusham in 1708, but that cannot be the same as it had a different landlord. Though this information is soundly based on documentary sources, I am not inserting it inot the article at present as it is technically WP:OR until I publish my reasons.
