Primary sources[edit]

This article is mainky based on primary sources from within BAPS, presenting the BAPS-narrative of Gunatitanand as abode of Brahman, and Bhagatji Maharaj as his successor. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 08:26, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Joshua Jonathan, all nine sources are non-primary sources. Secondary sources are interpretations and analyses based on primary sources. For example, an autobiography is a primary source while a biography is a secondary source. As far as I can tell, none of the authors witnessed Bhagatji Maharaj’s life firsthand WP:RSPRIMARY and are offering their own evaluation and interpretation of the available biographical material WP:SECONDARY. So, this tag has been placed in error, and I am removing it. Apollo1203 (talk) 12:26, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Apollo1203: I understand your point, but being written by BAPS-devotees they are WP:PRIMARY:

Primary sources are original materials that are close to an event, and are often accounts written by people who are directly involved. They offer an insider's view of an event, a period of history, a work of art, a political decision, and so on.

As such, they are not similar to scholarly sources like Williams and Kim, which would be preferable here. Yet, given the little attention given to Bhagatji Maharaj by such sources, I'm afraid we'll have to rely on sources like Dave. Regards, Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 17:02, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
