Other Backward Classes
[edit]There is dispute as to whether the article should mention that Bhatrajus are classified under the Other Backward Classes in four states, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. I believe the burden is on those who believe this should not be in the article to explain why. —Anomalocaris (talk) 03:25, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]Mere proof of existence is not adequate verification of notability. Aside from the passing mentions in the various government lists, and other unacceptable mentions in sources such as the "states" series of The People of India and matrimonial websites, I can find nothing that discusses this community. Clearly, it does exist but that is insufficient for an article. - Sitush (talk) 15:10, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

About Bhatraju caste
[edit]There are some controversial comments in this article.Dear authors you need to edit them. The history of Bhatrajus caste is very long. The Bhatrajs follow the Kshatriya ritual of the Brahmin community. The Bhatraju caste is descended from the Bhatti Rajput dynasty of northern India. They became like Brahmins after migrating to South India. The Bhatrajus wear the sacred thread like the Brahmins and are well versed in sacred literature.
Controversial comments in this article.
- The Bhatrajus were originally a caste of court bards, eulogists, and reciters of family genealogy and tradition.
- and praises of richer communities and their traditions in wedding or death ceremonies.
- They were originally attached to the courts of the Hindu princes as bards or professional troubadours, reciting ballads in poetry in glorification of the wondrous deeds of local princes and heroes. They were described as, "having a wonderful faculty in speaking improvisatore, on any subject proposed to them.
- They are well versed in folklore, and in the family histories and legends of the ancient Rājahs. Under the old Hindu Rājahs the Bhatrāzus were employed as bards, eulogists, and reciters of family genealogy and tradition. Most of them are now cultivators, and only a few are ballad-reciters."
Please edit these. Wikipedia may not have an article but do not write such misinformation. Some castes are underestimating our caste. This is a very painful thing. Those who praise the king are Vandimagadus. It's okay if you do not write an article about us but do not write false information. Many people believe that Wikipedia goes wrong about us in society. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rajput bhatt (talk • contribs) 02:19, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
