April 2021[edit]

Hello Nirmaljoshi. Please be aware that the latest changes have not removed any independent references. The issues about NPOV and encyclopaedic writing style mostly related to the "Early life and education" and "Career" sections. Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle (talk) 07:01, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello again Nirmaljoshi. It is getting quite tedious that you continue to revert my edits without engaging in the discussion here. The Edit Summaries are not the place for discussion of content disputes, so could you please take part in this discussion instead of reverting my edits yet again? Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle (talk) 23:28, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MrsSnoozyTurtle: Hello, I am not sure why you are so much obsessed with this article to delete or reduce the information. I completely agree that the article has to be copy edited. Since you have already started to copy edit, could you focus on improving the article without deleting the information such as dates and places. You should know that these kinds of information is important to start research on any topic by other reviewers. By deleting such information deliberately, you are causing (1) disrespect to the original content creator and more importantly (2) you are adding up the time and effort that will require to find it again and place it back to the article. Tagging and deleting is easy. Be constructive by improving the information what is already available. Do not involve in destructive editing. Regarding POV, I do not see any COI here, that is your personal opinion. Again I agree it needs a good copy edit, because probably it was not written by a native English speaker. nirmal (talk) 02:43, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you for joining me here at the Talk Page.

I would like to clarify that no disrespect was meant and my edits were not intended to be destructive. So as per WP:AGF, could you please withdraw those accusations?

Regarding WP:COI and WP:POV, these are separate issues so I suggest you read the relevant policies.

It is great to hear that we are in agreement that a copy edit was needed. If you would like to suggest any additions to the article, I would be happy to discuss them here of course. Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle (talk) 07:43, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

-Had you done the copy edit instead of dilebrately removing significant portion of article in your first edit, this discussion would not have been required- saving your and my time. nirmal (talk) 11:46, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Can I ask @MrsSnoozyTurtle: why do you believe that there are COI or NPOV violations here? As far as I can tell, the individual may live in Nepal. Being Nepalese and editing a Nepali BLP doesn't constitute COI or NPOV. Does the user work for the subject? Does the user work with the subject? I don't know, but I don't see any suggestion of those here at all. If anything, WP:PROF would apply here. The page needs much more content related to his research and awards received. @Nirmaljoshi: is there any way you can expand on that? Thanks!
To add, if you both have reached a consensus then feel free to revert my edits. I know nothing about this article. PerpetuityGrat (talk) 16:22, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know about anything else, but the subject is clearly notable per WP:PROF#C6. I can't see any circumstances under which an article about a British or American academic would be treated the way this one has been. Phil Bridger (talk) 18:13, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
