Merge with common emitter, common collector, etc
On the topic of merging biasing (electronics) with common emitter, common base, common collector articles, my take (as a practicing electrical engineer) is that these are distinct concepts that deserve independent articles. Common emitter/base/collector are designations of circuit topologies -- the pattern of hookup. These patterns comes up again and again in electronics, thus the shorthand names, but the context may have nothing to do with biasing, for instance in bipolar digital logic. Admittedly the transistors must be properly biased to work, but the biasing is of a trivially simple nature. Biasing as a concept, on the other hand, is more akin to feedback and control theory. Many biasing techniques bear no particular relation to these various BJT topologies (e.g. automatic gain control). I think if we try to artificially merge the articles it will end up confusing readers who are trying to understand the underlying concepts. -- technopilgrim 21:32, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Article still needs alot more work
This article needs to be a bit more generalized. BJT transistors aren't the only devices that require biasing - pretty much any small signal circuit with non-linear elements needs some sort of biasing. The last few sections about BJT amplifier configurations don't really belong there either. Perhaps there should be a separate article just on biasing BJT's since they're still common in academia.Roger 21:13, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Question about Transistor Biasing
Had a question,if you could help out - transistor biasing, using base bias, emitter bias,voltage divider bias,etc Should they be put on seperate pages or all together on one large page? Also, CC CE CB bias, should these three and the above biasing circuits be referenced together on one page? I've seen you're name everywhere on all the pages I saw related to EE, so thought I'd ask you. Just put up this- Biasing (electronics). Please have a look and tell me what you'd suggest. - Well I think initially they should all be put on one page. Also you could include the special methods for biasing of RF transistors. Just thought: biasing of diodes for use as detectors could also be on this page. What else needs biasing? Magnetic record heads? 8-)--Light current 13:39, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
