A list of groups using the term

[edit]

This page could do with a list of Christian groups that use the Bible believers term. wTurtle (talk) 13:43, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think the term is so generic that most christian groups would use it, even if some of them would disagree with the validity of the other groups' claims to it. -- leuce (talk) 23:54, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the term is generic. The page should indicate that the term is used by many denominations, and is characteristic of someone who by definition "believes the Bible is God's Word." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mandasdave (talkcontribs) 02:24, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. I suspect that the term is most often used by conservative churches, and there are more conservative churches than liberal churches. 140.254.226.233 (talk) 15:25, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Apostolic church reference

[edit]

The article mentions the Apostolic Church as an example of a church that uses the term, but the Apostolic Church is by no means representative of the term. I think it should be removed. -- leuce (talk) 23:53, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Offensive material

[edit]

This page contains incorrect, insensitive, and offensive material. The page is rife with factual errors and appears to be written from the standpoint of someone with an aggressive agenda. Many individuals refer to themselves as Bible Believers, and they come from many religious factions, and utilize many different versions of the "Holy Bible." These individuals are not limited to Independent Fundamental Baptists using the Authorized Version, and by inferring such, you attribute a viewpoint to people that can be found offensive by those individuals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.2.161.80 (talk) 02:17, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you have found any sources that accurately represent the theological position of the Bible believer or writings by non-Bible believers about the Bible believers, then you may certainly contribute to Wikipedia with them. 140.254.226.233 (talk) 15:23, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bible preference

[edit]

I am not so sure about the preference of the King James Version for Bible Believers. I wish there would be an actual citation of official documentation that states that the church/person identifies itself/himself/herself as "Bible believing" and uses the King James Version. I do recall that Sarah Palin of Alaska once recognized herself as a "Bible Believer". What she means by it is unclear to me, though I think she means that she believes that the Bible is literally true in a historical and scientific sense. On the other hand, she may be joking and uses the term to describe that she believes that the Bible pertains to her experiences and is true in an experiential, personal sense. 140.254.226.233 (talk) 15:30, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
