This is a very famous Irish folk song and has been recorded by numerous well known acts for over four decades and is still widely sung. I have listen some recordings and will add more about it's history in due course.--Seamasmac (talk) 12:29, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What Copyright?

[edit]

I put up the lyrics (from memory) last week, and Rockpocket took them down again claiming it was in breech of copywright. I'd like to see evidence of this. I'm quite certain they are public domain because the song is so old.

Some of the more recent Iarrangementstalic text of the song have been copyrighted - no doubt, but not the lyrics.

I think they are still copyright. Hohenloh + 04:22, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
