Cause of Death[edit]

I reversed the change made to the Lead today, because it obscured the fact that there is a controversy about Carleton's exact cause of death. The statement made was too definite for the WP:LEAD. It is better to keep the word "apparently" in the Lead, and let the reader read the "Death" section for the details and the several secondary sources given there (including Hoare's book), instead of the tertiary DNB source. In art and literature[edit]

The similarities between Billie Carleton's death and the story of Coco Courtenay in the short story 'The Affair of the Victory Ball' by Agatha Christie are incredibly strong.
