Lack of inline references

[edit]

The material in this article is reproduced in a number of external sources. The "NBIAP News Report" of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (June 1994) is referred to in the text. There are two external internet links given. Most of the material is corroborated in each of the sources. Trying to assign the sources to particular lines would be a distraction. As the article is developed it might reach a state in which references for particular facts are helpful. As it is now I intend to remove the no references template if there is no objection. This article has had some problems for a while, and I think in many ways the content merged here from industrial biomining is better in many ways - in particular, it's far more readable and better-sourced. That said, there's probably useful content in Biomining#Overview and Biomining#Processing_methods that isn't reflected in the current version. So I'd like to leave that content in the article for the moment, to allow useful stuff to be merged. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:18, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Substantial Editing of Article, including removal of entire sections

[edit]

I am editing this article for a wiki education assignment, and have been drafting edits in my sandbox User:ToedToad/Biomining. I have essentially rewritten the entire Processing methods section into a current biomining methods section. This new edited section has significantly condensed the information in the overview, processing methods, and gold section into one, well cited, section. I don't want to delete the overview and gold section without at least giving a heads up first. The sections currently have little citations, so if wanted I can leave in the information that has sources to back it up. ToedToad (talk) 23:35, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have added some of the information over to the article, but I will leave all the big deletions and edits till the 10th of May 2024, since that is when my assignment is due. All feedback is welcome. ToedToad (talk) 23:39, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will also remove the "lead section may need to be rewritten" template once I am done editing on the 10th of May. If no one sees an issue with that. ToedToad (talk) 23:42, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
