Removing multiple issues tag
[edit]1) I've made some changes that tend to wikify the article. (Bird Talk editors, please feel free to contact me about any comments or improvements you'd like to see made.)
2) The section "2008 Issue's of Bird Talk" is unusual for Wikipedia. I would ask the editors to consider the purpose of these statements, especially when other, perhaps more critical, aspects of Bird Talk are not covered in as much detail.
3) May I suggest to the editors that they chose one of their favorite magazine covers, and add the image to this article? Again, I can help with that process. There is some rather difficult "paperwork" that needs to be filled out to add a Wikipedia image successfully.
4) I do not see a reason for the tag asking for third-party sources or verification. This is a well-established magazine that has been commonly available in pet stores and elsewhere for decades.
Editors, our goal here should be to improve the Wiki article in a constructive way.

- WP:CORP and WP:V (esp. WP:PROVEIT) apply. What the subject says about itself should not be the sole basis of a Wikipedia article. The tag was there to improve the article for exactly that reason. If Bird Talk is so well established, editors should be able cite reliable references to back it up. Please note that Wild Bird Magazine, another BowTie publication created by the same editor, was deleted at AfD. The {{Primarysources}} tag is going back up. This problem needs to be fixed. • Gene93k (talk) 16:02, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- I definitely understand. Unfortunately, birds aren't my field. I just happen to know it was well-regarded because some years ago, when I was investigating something, I was repeatedly referred to it. At that point, I bought a few issues. It may be a different magazine, now, for all I know. Alpha Ralpha Boulevard (talk) 23:06, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- Still struggling with this, but eventually we'll get there. On the trail: Mattie Sue Athan's Guide to a Well-Behaved Parrot Barron's (1993), lists five magazines under "Useful Literature", Bird Talk is one. Alpha Ralpha Boulevard (talk) 10:46, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
