NPOV?[edit]

Although I have also heard the rumour that Eriksson is a member of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, I have yet to see any proof of this being true.

The Swedish article does mention that Eriksson was at one time Head of Budget at the Swedish Ministry of Finance, but it does not specify whether this was during a Social Democratic government or not. Furthermore, generally the only political appointments to the Government offices are those of Minister and Secretary of State, while positions such as Head of Department or Councillor for University Affairs are held by civil servants.

There are no traces of Eriksson being elected (or even standing for election) to public office, which also would mean that the notion of Eriksson being a politician is non-NPOV.

In my opinion, the article should either reflect that Björn Eriksson has had a splendid career as a civil servant, or find some proof of his membership in the SAP as well as his political aspirations/actions. OJH 14:37, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Very true. I went ahead and changed it right ahead. -- Jao 14:40, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

– The early Swedish king is clearly the wp:primarytopic. Early Scandivanians kings are not denotated by numerals, but by patronym or epithet. walk victor falk talk 00:42, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Why not just Björn Eriksson (civil servant)? There aren't other civil servants of this name to disambiguate from (and if there were, they'd probably also be Swedish anyway). --BDD (talk) 18:40, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also, support Björn Eriksson (civil servant). This is one of those rare "substantially greater enduring notability and educational value" forms of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, as a king, semi-legendary or not, will almost always trump a local politician. Speaking of which, would Björn Eriksson (politician) not be a better title? "Civil servant" seems like a bit of a euphemism. Are Swedish county governors elected or appointed? --BDD (talk) 18:45, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
They are appointed. Being a ""landshövding" is kind of an elephant graveyard for (former) high-ranking civil servants and politicians. I also support Björn Eriksson (civil servant), per superfluous disambiguation. walk victor falk talk 01:01, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for the clarification. --BDD (talk) 17:18, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
