The entire citation is apparently from [1]. However Richard Preston is a writer, not physician. The text doesn't clarify who said that.

I don't suggest to refer to the original article because it's a popular press (see WP:RS). Perhaps someone could dig a bit deeper? saimhe 16:12, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
