Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • No need for the Records and Music after the label name
  • I believe it is typical to say "Records", etc. in the lead, just not in the infobox
  • You do not need refs in the lead if the claims are properly sourced within the text body, which they are in this case
  • I thought the exact same thing but another editor said otherwise. Fixed

Artwork and packaging

[edit]
  • "The cover's star image is credited to NASA in the CD booklet." Put a ref on that sentence and don't just mention it.
  • Done, added liner notes

Release

[edit]
  • "Blackstar was released on 8 January 2016, coinciding with Bowie's 69th birthday, through his ISO label, Columbia Records and Sony Music." [[Columbia Records|Columbia]] etc.
  • Again to my knowledge, it perfectly acceptable to use "Records", etc. mid-sentence, unless there's a WP or MOS rule that states otherwise...

Commercial performance/Charts

[edit]
  • The section is really short for a super successful album like this, there is more information on charts available which should be included
  • That's on me. I normally never have to work on commercial performance sections. I'll see what I can do.
  • "after selling 146,000 copies in the first week" The Ref. 81, does not support this statement; just swap ref 81 with ref 82
  • Done.
  • It sold 178k in the US, not 181k. The 181k are Album-equivalent units. It "moved 181,000 units" would be better wording
  • Done
  • "In the week 11–17 January, Blackstar was the most downloaded album in 25 iTunes national charts.[90]" WP:SINGLEVENDOR; Remove entirely, do not use Itunes etc.
  • Done
  • Five Music is a streaming service; WP:SINGLEVENDOR
  • The Gaon Ref is titled 3rd week of 2016, the archive links to the 50th week of 2015 on the component internationl chart?; Worth mentioning that it peaked at no. 29 on the main chart
  • The Oricon link does not work. New link: [1]

Track listing

[edit]
  • add a ref to the liner notes claim
  • Done

Release history

[edit]
  • You should combine US/EU under Various; this gives the impression that the album wasn't released in other parts of the world; also it was released in all formats as far as I can tell worldwide on the same day
  • Done.
  • Add [[Streaming Media|streaming]]
  • Done.

References

[edit]
  • All Refs, which are not in English need a trans-title and if written in a different script, also script-title
  • As far as I checked them, the references do cover the assertions made in this article
  • What is the number (88875173862) in the liner note ref? Asin, EAN?

Other

[edit]
  • Copy-violation: [2], direct quotes from reviews and song titles – I see no issue

Outcome

[edit]
  •  On hold A well written article, only the commercial performance section should be brought to the same standard as the rest. Researching in different languages takes time, so I grant you 10 days.--Lirim | Talk 09:08, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Lirim.Z Holy crap I never received a notification for this I'm so sorry! I'll get working on this right now. – zmbro (talk) 23:36, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Lirim.Z I just realized I never added this to my watchlist which is probably why I never saw this, although the bot also never informed me this was on hold. Anyways, you can go ahead and fail this. I won't be able to get all your requests done by tomorrow. – zmbro (talk) 23:00, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
