Note on the name

[edit]

There has been some back and forth in the media regarding the name of the fire... Some are calling it Bluecut Fire while others are calling it Blue Cut Fire. The USFS (the official Incident Command agency) has dubbed it Bluecut Fire so that is what we will be going with. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 02:22, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, and that's what shows up on Inciweb, so good enough for me. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 02:41, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@NorthBySouthBaranof: my thoughts exactly. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 02:44, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The fire is named after the trail, the trail is called Blue Cut. [[[1]]]]

@Tatarize: I left a message on your talk page but I want to leave the same message here for others to see... PLEASE NOTE: I'm not saying that you are wrong! In fact, I believe that you are correct... But this is 100% original research which is not allowed. If and when a news article or other source mentions at least what the fire is named after, then this can be added. Simply citing Google maps is original research. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 21:14, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@NorthBySouthBaranof: so things just got weird.... The first paragraph of InciWeb is now calling it the Blue Cut Fire... I'm going to go ahead and rename the article. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 05:33, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
👍 Fuzheado likes this.
That is because it is named after the Blue Cut road. Separating the word Blue and Cut is the correct spelling. Source: [2]Juneau Mike (talk) 19:20, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
