My Disagreement

[edit]

I believe that this change is wrong! Nickelodeon studios should have stayed! Nickelodeon stinks now!I loved stuff like Figure it Out! I had the opportunity to go there last year; but when I heard it closed I turned it down!—Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.154.70.112 (talk) 17:51, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Generations will come and go...

[edit]

I know it was fun while it lasted. I know you enjoy going to Nickelodeon Studios as a kid. I never got the chance to see it in person, but I saw it on TV as they were filming Legends of the Hidden Temple and GUTS in the soundstages. Nickelodeon had to cut ties with Universal Studios to focus on other options, such as filming their shows in studios in New York or California. It may be a drag, but as that old saying goes: "That's the way the cookie crumbles." By the way, Nickelodeon is planning to open a theme park in 2008 inside the Mall of America in Minnesota. It will be called "Nickelodeon Universe" and open where Camp Snoopy used to be before 2006 when they changed their name to Park at MOA. Hopefully this will make the perfect replacement for Nickelodeon Studios in Florida.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Sponge1987 (talk) 07:49, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article issues

[edit]

This article has numerous issues that should be repaired as quickly as possible. The most notable is the article's name. No Universal-produced material that I have seen (and I have seen quite a bit) refers to the show as "Blue Man Group Live." If anything, it says simply "Blue Man Group" and "Sharp Aquos Theatre." I have asked and asked for a source for the name presented, and none has been presented. Until it has been, I will continue to flag this article accordingly.

As to the other issues:

  • Additional sources: none have been presented
  • Peacock terms: see paragraph on "The show"
  • Factual accuracy: see discussion above on show name
  • Sources & references: again, none have been presented
  • Cleanup: numerous run-on sentences, grammatical errors, etc.

I think the article has potential, although part of me thinks it could be merged into the main Blue Man Group article. In the vein of Cirque du Soleil, however, separate standalone articles of the individual BMG resident shows could work.

I've tried to clean this up this afternoon, but ran out of time. Does anyone have any sources that can confirm the other stations using the building? (FSN, etc.) --boonie45 16:00, 07 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can find multiple sources that those two stations, FSN Florida and Sun Sports occupy Soundstage 19 in the former Nickelodeon Studios building, but I cannot find a credible source. These are all mostly bloggers and forums. Anyone find a news release or anything? I will also be deleting the un-sourced Lobby information if I cannot find sources of those items actually being in the lobby. --boonie45 09:38, 08 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We will also need a free or flickr image of the entrance as well. Have any idea where we can find one, boonie?--Snowman Guy (talk) 15:01, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually yes, but it won't be for a while. I'll be over there in a couple of months, and can take one then. Until then, I'll keep searching for one already in existence. --boonie45 09:38, 08 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, another thing which should be improved upon is the article's title. On all the posters and advertisements I've seen for the show, (including the main sign at the attractions entrance) it is not called "Blue Man Group at the Sharp Aquos Theatre" but rather "Blue Man Group Sharp Aquos Theatre". Should the article be renamed?--Snowman Guy (talk) 20:52, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the name has bothered me from the time I started editing this page. It's definitely something to be considered. I also found an image on Flickr showing the entrance to the theatre, but it doesn't show the whole theatre itself, which bothers me. I'll keep looking. --Boonie45 (talk) 13:05, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It would be nice to have an image showing the outside of the theatre. In the walkway entrance image, you can only barely see the theatre. I think we could keep the current image, but add an image of the exterior theatre to the infobox.--Snowman Guy (talk) 13:34, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll move the page to it's correct title then. Thanks!--Snowman Guy (talk) 13:24, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just added a new picture of the building that I took in October. Definitely an improvement of that thumbnail logo that was overstretched in the infobox. --Mtjaws (talk) 17:06, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
