Sources and notability[edit]

There are many other book sources at Google Book Search that were not included due to only being in snippet view. Similarly for Google News Archive, there are additional sources behind paywall which could be used to improve the article. Alberti has clearly had a long and distinguished career as the musical director on many TV shows and for many noted singers, as well as 2 Emmy nominations. As for notability, see Wikipedia:Notability (music). Under that guideline, note that a musician needs only to satisfy one of the criteria. 1) is the general notability guideline, which is satisfied by articles in the Island Packet and JazzTimes:"Has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable."6)"Is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles, or an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians." This is satisfied by work with the Tonight Show Orchestra, and Charlie Spivak's orchestra, as well as the bands of Louis Prima, Jerry Gray and Les Brown. It should be additionally satisfied by the many years as accompanist of many notable vocalists. 8)"Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award." The two Emmy nomination for music should satisfy this one. Edison (talk) 18:32, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest tag[edit]

A COI tag was added by someone because it appeared that the subject of the article might have been the creator. I note that the tone of the article was and is encyclopedic and not full of exaggerated claims or self praise. The various statements are verifiabe via online sources at Google Books and Google News archive. Because much of the subject's career was in the 1950's and 1960's there are likely to be additional sources in print media not available online, besides that in snippet view or behind paywall, allowing expansion and improvement of the article uning print sources and the subject's autobiography. I propose removing the COI tag unless specific problems are cited, which can then be corrected through editing. Edison (talk) 18:11, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation[edit]

Might need to be disambiguated with other Bob Alberti's, including the Internet Gopher author of RFC1436 [1], and the Bob Alberti who was the creator of the first commercial online RPG [2] BFWB (talk) 16:42, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
