Work in progress

[edit]

Please do not delete this page right away. I will be updating it shortly with reliable news/article sources. Songuitar333 (talk) 22:48, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Songuitar333: Would you like me to move this to Wikipedia:Drafts or sandbox space so that you may get it up to standard? Otherwise, it's subject to all the policies and guidelines for articles in the mainspace. Mkdw talk 23:42, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes please add it to draft. Thank you! Songuitar333 (talk) 23:44, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Citing official videos

[edit]

Hmm, well, the sources I found were reliable and the art critic for The Huffington Post is a well known art critic and this artist has her work in major museums. Also, art critic Peter Frank who is on Wiki has interviewed her but it is a YouTube footage. We can cite from those official videos right? Songuitar333 (talk) 07:38, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the answer is no. Youtube is not an reliable source. KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 18:52, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
YouTube can be a reliable source, but it depends. Please see WP:YOUTUBE and WP:EL/P#YouTube. The main problems with YouTube is that most uploaders have uploaded videos that they do not hold the copyright on and we are not allowed to link to such video per WP:ELNEVER and WP:COPYLINK or the content is user-generated which is not considered to be a reliable source for Wikipedia purposes. However, you may cite official YouTube channels when it is clear the there is no copyright violation and the content provider satisfies the criteria for a reliable source. There are number ways you can add such a citation such as Template:Cite media or Template:Cite episode, etc. If you're not sure whether the source is considered reliable, try asking at WP:RSN for help. One thing about interviews is that they are considered to be a primary source and thus do not help establish Wikipedia notability. An interview given by Moline-Kramer might be OK as a citation for certain facts in the article as long as WP:BLPSELFPUB is satisfied. For more details, take a look at the essay Wikipedia:Interviews. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:17, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted quotes

[edit]

Why were my quotes deleted? I thought I needed to add major art critic reviews as suggested in this thread? I am still working on her wiki and will be adding more re: her work and reviews. Please let me know. Thank you. Songuitar333 (talk) 04:10, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you but I need additional explanation, what do you mean by, "they were copypasted"? They come from actual sources and they were published. Do you mean by it looked copy and pasted? I typed the quote out on word since the book is not online and then copy pasted this. Is that wrong? I looked up how to add quotes on wiki and this is what they showed me. If it wasn't the right way please advise where I can learn how to post correctly. Songuitar333 (talk) 07:39, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What is the correct way to cite quotes from books that are not published online? Songuitar333 (talk) 07:57, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
