I have no opinion on this article's content or title, but it is a concern that there is a battle with the article's title going on right now, especially because the editors engaged in this battle are not discussing their changes at talk. I personally don't care what this article is titled, but the "Northern Irish footballer" name seems to have been the most stable recently, so let's leave it at that for now. Anyone wishing to move it from that title, please request it via WP:RM. --El on ka 00:22, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Now how does the player describe themselves? Do they describe themselves as Irish or British? We are not intrested here on how others describe them, but how they self identify. Bobby Campbell (footballer, born 1956) → Bobby Campbell (Northern Irish footballer) – The birth year is unverifiable and not consistent with other disambiguated footballers of the same name, like Bobby Campbell (English footballer), whose current name was challenged but then has been upheld. The unanimous support in 2009 RM astounds me. WP:FOOTY, cited in previous RM, is a redirect to WikiProject page, so it might not apply. WP:NCSP and WP:NCP do; so do WP:CRITERIA.
