I've recently redone the page (take a look at my sandbox should you need the revision history there). I'd appreciate people looking over this. I was going to remove the stub listing here as I think it's now a more fully-fledged article; but I'm not sure what WikiProject Wales do for their suggestions with that sort of thing? Referendum[edit]

In 2011 a referendum was held by the Town Council on the topic, with a resounding 94% against result, despite frigid winter conditions, and dangerous roads.

How does the weather affect the result? It may affect the turnout in the referendum, but the fact that there were "frigid winter conditions" should make no difference at all to the proportion voting one way or the other. Skinsmoke (talk) 03:13, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What I meant to write was that there was a large turnout (over 70% of the town's population), but I can no longer find the correct source to cite. I have removed it for clarity, and will re-add it if I ever find the right source. As referendums typically have much lower turnouts, it goes to show how contentious the issue was.
