Bolton is the best town in the world. Skye Sweetnam is not a good singer at all.(And I saw her at wal-mart once... she's brutal.)

Once Again with the vandalism... Glad to know my Bolton kin are the brightest. Once again, any minor edits to this page (especially involving the famous people section) are most likely acts of vandalism. Fubarific chick 03:08, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't feel that Skye Sweetnam should be the focus (or at least recieve as much attention as she does) of the Bolton article, plenty of better things have come from our town, and she's not even proud of being from Bolton, she called it a hick town with nothing but telephone poles in a much music interview. You seem like a proud resident of Bolton, act like one. Keep her in the music section, but I do not believe she is a Notable Individual.

You can say that Skye Sweetnam is not a notable individual, but this article even mentions a couple bands of kids that occasionally play in community centres. It seems like everyone's biased against Skye Sweetnam, but she's probably the most notable thing that ever came from Bolton anyway. Obviously whoever wrote that section is biased towards the punk music scene. Oh, and not to mention that talking about illScarlett, The Flats and The Johnstones is probably the most pointless tihng to put on this page, considering they aren't from here, and have just played a few shows in a couple community centres and highschools. But I suppose Bolton doesn't really have anything interesting of its own. 64.231.247.216 03:41, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

well they did talk about bands from bolton too who knew about the bell ends im in that band and i didnt even add that on hear who ever did thank you TBE ROX 02:57, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If there are "so many" other notable individuals from Bolton than name them. Just because Skye has said there isn't much from Bolton doesn't mean she's not from there. Just because you don't like her and many others don't doesn't mean she wasn't born and raised in Bolton. Regardless of your feelings for her and her feelings for our town, she is from Bolton. Fair use rationale for Image:Downtownbolton2.jpg[edit]

Image:Downtownbolton2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:08, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nature of English in Bolton?[edit]

My grandfather and siblings were natives of Bolton who arrived in the North-West Territories (sic) in the 1890s. They had a strong accent which I never heard when at graduate school at U of T in the late 1970s and early '80s. Is it long-extinct? Masalai (talk) 13:23, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
