Umpire stats

[edit]

Seeing as Cricket246 is hell-bent on disruption, trolling and edit-warring, he'll be well reminded that WP:NOTSTATS applies in listing un-needed stats, as explained many times on my talkpage. Maybe they can offer something else to counter this, instead of continuing their WP:NOTHERE behaviour. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:36, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Every Umpire's page has these minimum detail mentioned as has been a long standing tradition in Wikipedia. Even Wikipedia guidelines mention that minimum statistics in tabular form which is properly cited is well acceptable. And in this case the little table gives a glimpse of an umpire's international career with the debut and latest games in the international formats and every renowned umpire's page has it. Lugnuts has been reverting my edits without even considering my point and his behaviour towards me has been bordering on appalling with zero respect and lots of threats and loose, disrespectful words like fanboy, troll etc directed towards me. So I want my point to be considered and obviously I want it to be explained why this page should receive different treatment from the rest of the umpires. Regards. Wrong. Per a recently closed RfC (today, infact) states: "There does, however, seem to be a pretty clear agreement from most participants that swathes of numbers or lists of awards, empty of content or context, are not appropriate for Wikipedia". This is empty of context, so it will be removed. Feel free to start another RfC if you feel strongly about it. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:57, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
First justify why it is out of context. How do you define context in this regard? Detailed explanation is needed. Unless you explain how it is out of context the RfC doesn't become applicable here. Cricket246 (talk) 14:36, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The RfC also states that "Nor is there a clear consensus that such sections should be removed from all cricketer articles" so you can't remove it without explaining how exactly it is out of context. Also the RfC mentions "and that where sections for achievements/awards are included, they should be more than just a basic list, being a means to expand and add value to the article" and here it's not a basic list as the debut matches and milestone matches are all mentioned in prose form just before in umpiring career. The table just gives a glimpse of that so no way it's out of context. Unless a proper explanation is given I won't accept the revert I'm sorry. Cricket246 (talk) 14:49, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There's no context, which is clear from the RfC, so it stays removed. Again, feel free to start your own RfC. Good luck. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:56, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
