I can't believe that there is not a single mention of the "S" word in this entire article[edit]

It's kind of shocking - now that the "doors of perception" are finally opening - that this article makes absolutely no mention of Slavery in the United States. Plantation has become a euphemism for the "s" word. The ongoing mission of the United Daughters of the Confederacy to amend history is still working a treat.

The article on this place should reflect that the fact it was a place of human bondage, where people were born, worked, sold, and died for profit. I would love to the same attempts at writing history this way applied to articles about the Congo Free State or the Arbeitslager. The sooner modern societies get a hanlde on the fact these "lovely old homes" were built on the blood, sweat, and tears of tens of thousands of enslaved and brutalized people, the sooner societies will engage in ways to make sure the prejudices that created these places can never happen again.81.159.165.20 (talk) 09:58, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This article appears to have been heavily edited by the owners of Boone Hall which may explain whitewashing. (Or maybe its been completely overlooked.) Either way, feel free to add that section. You make a fine point. I'd do it but I don't have the time right now. Muttnick (talk) 20:40, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
