Booty's remix section[edit]

Initially I would like to say that I have been editing Jennifer Lopez's "Booty" for quite some time, and it's been an article that I have each and every time more information to add. However, the remix section, which was divided into its own section - similar to many articles here on Wikipedia - was blended with the original version, causing a problem of too much information for two different versions, becoming overfull and the reading became tiring. The article won the 'B' status before the change was made, and I believe that now that it's very full (too much), the article will fall to 'C' status. I always like to take reference from a good article here on Wikipedia to help improving other articles, that's why I always referenced Beyoncé's "Party" article, which also has a remix and all remix information is separated from the original version, so the article does not become so full and extensive. By separating both information, the article stays clean, and at the same time, it covers everything about the song, again, take the Beyoncé's "Party" article in consideration, the same goes with "Flawless", which is also divided between the original version and the remix version, which is logical. "Booty" was released separately with Pitbull first on her album "A.K.A." and later a remix version with Iggy was released as a single.

Plus, the "Party" article is very similar to "Booty", because the first version was released on the album with André 3000 and later he was replaced by J. Cole - the same happened to "Booty" (Pitbull was in the original, Iggy replaced him) - even the video was made for the remix version in both cases. Furthermore, the only version which is considered a single is the remix, since it was the only one that was released to digital download (while both didn't go to radio). And again, I like to base myself in articles that are already considered good on Wikipedia, so I can do my own contribution in the way that the article that I'm contribuiting to become as good as the other articles on Wikipedia, that's why I believe that it's necessary to divide the remix section. I just edit again and the article is way cleaner and more pleasant with the section being divided. FanofPopMusic (talk) 04:32, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
Is it necessary to have no many un-notable writers in the lead? I.e Lewis D. Gittus, Tedra Renee Wilson, and Danny Omerhodic. I'd say "with additional writing from Chris Brown, Pitbull and several others", or something along those lines
"they enjoyed the track and Lopez was convinced to record the track" - two uses of "the track" in one sentence reads poorly
"Oriental keyboard riff" - this is fine in the body as it is a direct quote, but I'd consider rewording it for the lead. The term 'Oriental' is a bit antiquated
"threw for critics, later she performed" - I feel this should have a semi colon instead of a comma
    What is an Audiomack account?
"and their derrieres nearly touching" - why this term? It strikes me as a bit colloquial and unencyclopeadic. And why italics?
"having a quirky Middle-Eastern vibe into the mix" - grammar? I'd say "adding a quirky ..."
"All the sexy girls in the party, go grab a man and bring him to the dancefloor," she sings" - This seems a bit random; it needs some more context if you want to keep it
    Who is "Mr. Worldwide"?
"an inspired pairing that will probably kill radio" - can you give this some more context? In what sense are they going to "kill" it; I can't tell if this is a good thing or not. Perhaps reword the direct quote into prose
I've never heard the term 'snapback hat' before. I suggest you wikilink it to the 'Variations' sub-section at Baseball cap
"Jennifer debuts her alter-ego Roxy" - this raises more questions than it answers. Is it an official alter-ego or only according to Inocencio? Especially since it is mentioned in the music video caption I feel like we need more information on this
I can find no info on Roxy so I removed references to "her"
"pointed out that it" - I'd reword this as per WP:WORDS
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. Has an appropriate reference section:
Checklinks seems to find a handful of issues that could be fixed: [1]
I've never been exposed to this feature; what do I do with this info? I have done over a dozen GAs and never come across this feature.
@MagicatthemovieS: In the GA toolbox in the top right hand corner of this page, the last of the four links there is entitled "External links". A GA reviewer is expected to use this tool to check if all the references in the article are live and up to date. The colour coded system at Checklinks let's you know what is wrong with each reference. If it's white, the reference is OK. As a couple example of what's wrong and needs to be fixed, Checklinks currently finds that the 'Israel Single Chart' reference flags the "truncates URL" issue. This is because the reference given is 'http://www.letssingit.com/charts/israel-singles'. Whereas when that link is clicked on it redirects to 'https://www.letssingit.com/charts'. The reference is not up to date. Checklinks finds that Reference 49, http://www.ryanseacrest.com/2014/09/18/jennifer-lopez-and-iggy-azalea-twerk-their-booty-in-new-music-video/, redirects to https://onairwithryan.iheart.com/. The link is broken and it needs to be fixed. Checklinks finds issues with 18 references, though some of these are likely false positives. For example the program is flagging the reference ""Booty" (Bandits Remix) – Amazon.es" as having an issue but after looking for one I can't see one. Does that all make sense? Freikorp (talk)
@Freikorp: How do I determine what is a false positive?
@MagicatthemovieS: If the URL in the reference is exactly the same as the final destination (I.e isn't dead or a redirect) you don't have to fix anything. Also just for future information the ping function doesn't work unless you use it and your signature in the same post. :) Freikorp (talk) 08:31, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Some references have a space in Ryan Seacrest.com, others do not
    B. Citation to reliable sources where necessary:
Discogs is not a reliable source as anyone can edit it
What makes 'Music Times' and 'Pop Dust' a reliable source?
According to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Sources, Music Times is reliable
According to Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 133, That Grape Juice is not a reliable source
The last sentence of the prose has a citation needed tag. Obviously this needs to be addressed
    C. No original research:
  2. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
    B. Focused:
  3. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
  4. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
  5. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content:
    B. Images are provided if possible and are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
  6. Overall:
Pass or Fail: Placing on hold so that issues can be addressed. Freikorp (talk) 06:26, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@MagicatthemovieS: Hi there. It's been seven days since I placed this on hold. How much more time do you think you'll need? :) Freikorp (talk) 11:58, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Freikorp: Another week should suffice.
@Freikorp: I addressed all of your concerns.
Looking good. Happy to pass this now. Congrats. Freikorp (talk) 22:54, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
