Casting

[edit]

The casting subsection was added and expanded[1] a while back to include the claim that the character Daisy was inspired by Anne Heche but the sources seem contradictory.[2] The latter source quotes Steve Martin: "I wasn't thinking of Anne," Martin says. "Anne and I are still good friends. Only that last scene could be identified with her at all."

In any case, the note seem more about what Martin was thinking when he wrote the script, not what the film makers were thinking when they were casting the part. Maybe there are other sources that could clear this up? -- 109.79.73.154 (talk) 13:59, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this is really a "buddy comedy" as described.

[edit]

The characters (Bowfinger, Jiff) aren't buddies, they don't go on adventures together, it's more of an ensemble cast with a strong lead from Martin and two great performances from Murphy. Buddy movies there is a distinct couple and their repartee is what makes the dialog snap. Lethal Weapon is a good example. Rarelycomments (talk) 20:03, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
