The result of the move request was: moved per consensus, and note that things being named for a sense is not part of the primary topic criteria. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:58, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Boyhood (disambiguation)Boyhood – I doubt that someone who wants to find an article about boys will type "boyhood". Georgia guy (talk) 19:21, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom. No clear primary topic for this term; Move disambiguation page to basename. I'd wait a while before considering a possible move to make the film the primary topic, since primary topic swaps are often a bit awkward. Paintspot Infez (talk) 20:23, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - easy enough for editors to use [[boy]]hood linking method if the need arises. -- Netoholic @ 21:21, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move Boyhood (film) to Boyhood as the WP:primary topic. The film gets well over triple the pageviews of Boy and over 100 times the pageviews of the novel or Boyhood (disambiguation). The dab page can then stay where it is. Station1 (talk) 22:07, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'd strongly oppose this option. No matter the pageviews, the film is named specifically for the everyday term, and that term is the primary topic. While I think we can be fine not needing the WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT, I would much prefer we do nothing than to assign any one article to boyhood. If Station1's option does catch on, you can count my vote as a full oppose any move. -- Netoholic @ 02:10, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The clear primary topic by historical importance is the period in the life of a human male of being a boy. Everything else with this title is named for that sense. While it could be argued that childhood could also be a target for this term, boyhood is not ambiguous to childhood, but is a particular case of childhood. BD2412 T 04:12, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per Paintspot, no primary topic. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:35, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would also note that this was originally created as a redirect to Childhood, although Boy might be a better target given the views of the film its unlikely to be primary today. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:39, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
