Old light
[edit]Interesting. I was wondering about that. - Denimadept (talk) 00:38, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. I decided to sort out and stub out
- Nantucket Harbor Range Lights, existing, see photo at Leading lights, which needs a new article
- Nantucket Range Lights --the 1856 Brant Point Light plus a wood tower behind it, another new article
- and in the process ran across the fact that the current Brant Point Light was a new tower and the old tower was still there.
- The whole Brant Point Light article needs a rewrite, as a lot of it is a direct quote from http://www.uscg.mil/history/weblighthouses/LHMA.asp. Want to take that on?

- Yep, it's still there, though it doesn't have its lighthouse top anymore. I'm not a lighthouse person as such, though. - Denimadept (talk) 14:09, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- You may not be a lighthouse person, but how about following up your gorgeous photo of the 1901 tower with an equally good shot of the 1856 tower? . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 16:23, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure I've got something. I'll check. - Denimadept (talk) 16:45, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
- While you're at it, the photo at Nantucket Harbor Range Lights isn't bad, but maybe you have something for that, as well -- an addition, not necessarily a replacement. . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 17:21, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
- That I doubt very much. I went to Nantucket last April for the first time. While I usually take pictures of bridges, the lack of any such structures meant I had to give myself a different "assignment". So I did lighthouses. It was fun, in a way, being there before the season started. Certainly it was cheaper! - Denimadept (talk) 17:34, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
