Change of page Title

[edit]

This page may be better named Brass Band Contesting in the United Kingdom, which would be a page containing much of the same information, but has the opportunity to involve other information more readily. Much of the content at present is WP:AESTHETIC, and I think it is easier to stay objective discussing the contests, rather than sections. Stucco9951 (talk) 10:46, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Rankings in Championship Section

[edit]

I'm not sure about the inclusion of these rankings - these are completely unofficial international rankings, and don't really have much to do with the Championship Section. Technically, a band could appear in the top 10 without even being in the championship section - obviously it would be very unlikely (unless they were a band that didn't enter the area contests but did lots of other contests), but it demonstrates how the two are not really connected. I'd have thought that, if anything, a table of performance at the National Finals would be more relevant? TSP (talk) 10:44, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
