I agree this should be able to have a page. Tell me why it shouldnt! If someone wants to make a page for it its unfair u delet it. As long as it has true info on it why should it be deleted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ray-zin (talkcontribs) 22:20, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just because this isn't a single, why can't It have a WikiPage? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.243.158.80 (talk) 13:50, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Wikipedia:Notability (music). - eo (talk) 13:52, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The source that states that this song is the 3rd single is unreliable - You need a source from Jive Records or SonyBMG, or Britney's site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.162.94.48 (talk) 20:30, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kelefa Sanneh of The New York Times found the track "nearly as good" describing it as a "rave-inspired flirtation."

Nearly as good as what? This line needs to be dropped or add something like, "nearly as good" at its single predecessors.24.13.14.232 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 13:38, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Radio Format[edit]

It says: "...and it will be sent to the U.S. mainstream radio format on February 26, 2008." Well, not really. I heard the radio edit in Australia. Its quite diffrent compared to the Album version. So you need to change that following line. It should be "...and was sent to the Australian radio format on February 16, 2008" --BatterBean (talk) 02:36, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's Also Been Playing in St. Louis Z107.7 Since Feb. 8th, and yes the radio version is "quite" different.

Late to the party, I know, but that's because that particular version was a custom edit done in-house at KSLZ. I would know, I work there.  :) --InDeBiz1 (talk) 07:10, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How is it different? The one being played in Canada is virtualy identical to the album versiom —Preceding unsigned comment added by Clayab (talkcontribs) 05:51, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the one heard down here in Australia, was different to the album? --BatterWow (talk) 05:55, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

UK Charts[edit]

some one put that the single was at eigthy-three on the UK Singles Chart, when it is not!!! Jay-Z and linkin park a at 83 not Britney!!!

Honestly... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dan waz eya 05@hotmail.co.uk (talkcontribs) 21:24, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Music video[edit]

With the music video sources are saying that the music video will premier this Monday.[1] and that page also says that they have cancelled the premier. Is this true? --BatterWow (talk) 07:40, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, MTV removed that sentence from their website. Thankssir (talk) 09:02, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's been confirmed from "World Of Britney" that the video will come out next week, but Brit wont be in it?

Jive Records or anyone from Britney's camp for that matter, has yet to make an announcement as to if there even will be a music video. The statement that was made on mtv.com a couple of weeks ago could've just been a huge mistake. It should probably be included that there may not even be a music video and that the song will be a radio-only single. Just because Britney is dancing at Millennium doesn't mean she's practicing for a dance routine for this video, she could be dancing for a number of other reasons. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.50.206.174 (talk) 02:02, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, she could just be dancing for maybe...Um here Blackout Tour, practising. U never kno. --BatterWow (talk) 03:14, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The synopsis of the music video needs tightening. --Efe (talk) 08:07, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Music video info[edit]

I don't understand why the info keeps being deleted, i think it's quite importqnt that Britney has been practising dance rountines and MTV have cancelled a premier! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dan waz eya 05@hotmail.co.uk (talkcontribs) 09:14, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not to mention that new pics from the video have bee leaked on the internet.

The section regarding the music video reads like it was written by a 3 year old. Can someone please fix this, it has to be a joke. Reqluce (talk) 16:43, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the words "Proved" and "Proving" are used WAY too much in the last sentence. It just sounds repetitive and unprofessional. --Gencoil (talk) 08:48, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Video confirmed[edit]

http://www.muchmusic.com/news/story.asp?id=20719 The video is indeed animated, and will be premiered this friday. And don't delete the video section again!!59.180.22.193 (talk) 18:37, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Positions numbers[edit]

The position number should be written and not as numerals. It doesn't look right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.62.153.89 (talk) 20:07, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Somebody keeps changing the numbers to numberals. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dante1707 (talkcontribs) 03:17, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Critical response[edit]

"Critical response to "Break the Ice" has been glowing. Like "Gimme More" and "Piece of Me", the song garnered rave reviews from music critics and was one of the most recommended songs of the album. Kelefa Sanneh of The New York Times described it as a "rave-inspired flirtation."[6] All Music Guide's Stephen Thomas Erlewine referred to the song as a "stuttering electro-clip."[5] Darryl Sterdan noted in Canadian-based website Jamcanoe.ca: "...she [Spears] brought a choir and one of Madonna's old synth-pop leftovers with her."[7] Spears mouthing of "I like this part" was described by Tom Ewing of Pitchfork Media that it "sounds like spacehoppers bouncing is slow motion round in a padded cell" and concluded that the track is the "most individual of Britney records" and that "her constant surrender of identity from track to track comes over as a tactic to make individual songs more disorienting and thrilling."[8]"

I find it hard to believe critical response has been "glowing" and the song has received "rave reviews". The quotes in the paragraph don't do much to back up the claim that the reaction has been so enthusiastic. If critics are praising this song so highly, why not quote some of that stuff? (The last two quotes from Pitchfork are referring to the album, not the song.) Otherwise, let's tone it down. Everyking (talk) 06:45, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The first sentence is really glowing, very brilliant wordings, but POV. I've cleaned it up and simplified. No worries. --Efe (talk) 06:51, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

who is writing this???[edit]

Seriously, the page is so positive. I'm amazed and worried how much probably people in Jive records wrote... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.96.47.130 (talk) 05:55, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The only "positive" part is the Critical Reception.

ShadowRanger 08:30PM (CST) March 15, 2008

There's nothing wrong whether a song got rave reviews from critics or successfully dominated charts—that is, positive—the important is it is well-written and up to date (but not too much to not look like a news article). --Efe (talk) 06:45, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Taken from "Break the ice" article[edit]

I would like to no why you keep deleting pages like break the ice and why should i be sad? even if they are not singals they can still have a page cant they?

This question has already been answered at Talk:Break the Ice and the AfD nom for Why Should I Be Sad. - eo (talk) 22:39, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The page is now redirected. --Efe (talk) 07:54, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I saw it today[edit]

I saw it today on TMF I think it was in Britain. I added that it debuted today on British TV. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Electrology (talkcontribs) 12:59, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

this week's hot 100[edit]

the hot 100 chart has already leaked online and break the ice climbed to #71. don't understand why u deleted the line that read that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dante1707 (talkcontribs) 02:19, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And your reliable source is......? - eo (talk) 02:21, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

fine... do you wanna bet it'll be #71? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dante1707 (talkcontribs) 02:21, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The point isnt whether it will be 71, the point is that you have no reliable source. - eo (talk) 02:23, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

right. let us wait until tomorrow and post the same thing that could be posted right now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dante1707 (talkcontribs) 02:26, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According to the March 22, 2008 issue of the Billboard Charts, "Break the Ice" is at 95 on the Hot 100. You can't edit chart information based on speculation or projection (Wikipedia is not a crystal ball). The following is the source: ""Break the Ice" Hot 100 Chart Info". -HeavenlyEire (talk) 07:04, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I believe this article is on the right track, so messing around will arouse the interest of other users to butt in. Support HeavenlyEire for giving link and clearing out the issue. --Efe (talk) 09:56, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Remixes, Formats etc[edit]

Who has removed all the versions and the promo cd information? I found it useful, and it's not unsubstanciated, there are copies of that promo cd around. Dollvalley (talk) 16:29, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Me. I found it trivial. --Efe (talk) 01:05, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just cause you find it trivial doesn't mean it has no place here or that you can freely remove it, how about asking here like most people do before deleting someone's work? I see promotional information everywhere and for many artists I see no point in deleting it here. Dollvalley (talk) 18:10, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Its a mere list. Unsourced. Unencyclopedic. If you want them to stay, make it a prose and provide reliable source per WP:RS and WP:V, providing that the text remains encyclopedic or adds importance to the article itself. Cheers. --Efe (talk) 08:01, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

US Commercial CD[edit]

So Break The Ice was realeased to American radio on March 3rd, when is it due to be released as a CD over in the States.

What is its current billboard position?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.141.50.127 (talk) 17:10, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Anime" Britney as opposed to "animated" one[edit]

Changed the "animated" parts to Anime.

The video is not "inspired" by Anime, it IS Anime. Calling her "animated" would imply more traditional, Western animation (you might as well call her a cartoon or toon), as opposed to the Anime used in the music video.

The music video is a perfect example of Anime, as it has the same kind of animation and operates under the the same set of rules as any given Anime.

Perhaps it would help justify the use of "anime" if more info could be found regarding the creators of the video. The style and character design looks very familiar. -- TRTX T / C 01:47, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It is not the perfect example of anime, considering that it didn't originate in Japan. 66.90.9.102 (talk) 13:13, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics notation[edit]

Currently, there is a reference to the lyrics that is notated as "Hot Hot Hot Hot", but if you listen closely to the song (which I have many times), you will notice it's actually "Hot Hot Hot *breathy sigh that sounds like 'Hahhhhh'*" I made the edit to the article earlier, and it was reverted. :-\ Wes (talk) 02:36, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
