The date - 1922, or later?[edit]

I'm removing this change because I don't think the article itself is the right place to argue it out. It said:

Edit: Friday 20th October also occurs in 1939 and 1933 so 1922 is not a definitive date)

However 195.195.128.44 does seem to have a point - Friday 20/10 does not nail it exclusively to 1922 so really the assertion isn't much use without more evidence. Views please? Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 17:15, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Afterthought: Also, isn't it OR or synthesis or some other deadly sin to derive the date from the text like that?? Maybe it's better just left out or some other evidence sought for, at least, the general period? ... hmmm DBaK (talk) 17:23, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How do you know the writer really knew this? I took a look on the calendars, and it seems like 1922 and 1944 are the same (except January and February, 1944 was a leap year). The writer probably just used the 1944 calendar and it has the same October dates, witout caring much for it. I've read most Bert diaries and became aware of this problem, as most of them use the same calendar as the year they were published (jumping one year from 1987 to 1989, and suddenly the second also tells it's 1989). In which case shouldn't we just remove the whole bit about the date, which was my point in my last edit? OR etc. Best wishes DBaK (talk) 14:56, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Update: zapped it. DBaK (talk) 14:58, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
