From Birth To Weezer

[edit]

In the 'From birth to Weezer' section I believe the Ben Bolt the link points to is the wrong person, but I didn't want to remove the link without being 100% sure about the error. I believe the Spanish classical musician is the wrong Ben Bolt. Also, I'm pretty sure the Ben Bolt involved in Weezer was also born in Knoxville, Tennessee. Removed old cleanup tag

[edit]

I removed the cleanup tag from December 2007 because it appears to no longer be valid. This looks like a typical start-class page to me. momoricks 01:25, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Carnival Art

[edit]

Anyone else think we should make a page for Carnival Art? I know a few good source's of information and the names of the band members other then Brian Bell himself any questions? Ween91 (talk) 18:47, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have created an article on the band. I was able to find them on the Allmusic.com website, along with album reviews for both of their studio albums. You can add the sources you found to the article if you want (as long as they're reliable sources). Interlude 65 (Push to talk) 01:51, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Brian Bell (musician). Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Requested move 27 March 2016

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Move. Consensus is that this is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Cúchullain t/c 15:01, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

– primary topic, page views are 39,575 (243/day) musician, 833 (5/day) businessman, 406 (2/day) American football player, 344 (2/day) DAB, 87 (1/day) ornithologist. The musician has been notable for decades, while the football player and ornithologist's pages are stubs. Nohomersryan (talk) 18:59, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Misplaced template this should start from the dab page, not pick one as it skews the alerts. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:03, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • And oppose Sorry but nothing in Google Books indicates that the Weezer band member is more notable than all other Brian Bells in history combined. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:03, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Has there been any time in history where searching a common name in Google Books doesn't give anything but completely random results? It's really a bad way to determine primary topic. Even someone as huge as, say, John Williams. See "John Williams was". Literally only one result about the composer there, but he is for sure the primary topic Nohomersryan (talk) 22:48, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - Establishing a primary topic is complicated, as can be seen in the guidelines. While Wikipedia page views can be helpful indicators, they are neither the most reliable nor the only source for analysis. IiO's point is correct; there is no primary topic in this case, so the current naming situation should stand.--MarshalN20 Talk 03:43, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Pageviews aren't everything, but they are a major way we determine usage, which is one of the principal criteria at WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. And 96% of pageviews is very strong evidence that this person is the primarytopic over the other WP topics called "Brian Bell" by a long shot. He also has long-term significance due to his 20+ year involvement with a major musical group, Weezer. This move would help our editors and readers navigate, so let's do it! Dohn joe (talk) 13:43, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Support per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. With all the due respect, other people with this name are rather obscure (an American football fullback whose professional career lasted five months, an Australian businnessman active in Papua Guinea who appears just slightly notable, and a partial title match about a very obscure environmental consultant). In terms of reliable coverage and long-term significance only the musician appears to be an unquestionably notable person, the others are borderline at best. Comments above about impressive page views percentage (96% about the musician!) are also valid. Cavarrone 19:16, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support – page views is a valid indicator for WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Long-term significance is not a concern because this person has been active since 1982. SSTflyer 08:49, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

LOTR role offered

[edit]

I took out the two final sentences in the Movie Career section, which said he was offered a role in Lord of the Rings. There weren't any sources, even with a supposed quote from him. A quick google couldn't verify the claim. If this was inappropriate and needs to be reverted, I understand. --2601:681:527F:8106:55C3:9B2F:1AFF:7BE1 (talk) 03:32, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
