Notable alumnae names without a Wikipedia biography
[edit]The 'Notable alumnae' list has three red-link names. Each has two citations. An essay suggests writing the article first which avoids the churning that these red-links tend result in. Wikipedia notability, unless the individual is in a category presumed to be notable, requires significant coverage by independent reliable sources. Profiles published by organizations the subject is/was a member of are not indepedent sources and thus don't contribute to notability. Interview content provided by the subject does not contribute to notability. Sources the subject wrote are not independent and do not contribute to notability. I've looked at the citations and done some searching.
- Barbara Leggett, gastroenterologist, clinician scientist, Queensland Institute of Medical Research
- Gloria Ida Logan, artist and lecturer in art and crafts
- references:
- [3] art sales search result lists one item by Gloria Logan - shows something she produced is for sale
- [4] search result listing one Gloria Logan item with a biographical history copied from Wikipedia – not a reliable source
- [5]Logan appears in a list of "... famous Australian artists, and less famous ones,...". This source is of no help to notability.
- conclusion: nothing cited to support notability, in addition it appears a prior biography article or articles on Logan have been deleted.
- a biography article about her was speedy deleted 14:31, 9 August 2009 (Sarah talk contribs deleted page Gloria Ida Logan (A7: No indication that the article may meet guidelines for inclusion))
- the 2nd ref contains material sourced from a 2007 Wikipedia article which no longer exists
- references:
- Eva Popper,gynacolognist and obstetrician
I will remove Logan because an article on her have been removed under speedy delete criteria A7. I'll leave the other names in place to allow some time for other editors to either write articles for them or find some independent sources that demonstrate notability.
