Really needed?[edit]

Is this page really needed? It contains very little new information. Mark999 11:56, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Naming convention[edit]

It looks like this page has been previously at Bristol bus station but then moved here. Worth having a discussion about the best naming convention before moving it back again? Is there a standard amongst bus station articles...? Whouk (talk) 13:09, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done Whouk - As you've probably noticed this has gone unnoticed for a good 5 years but a newbie editing it caught my eye! - Anyway I've requested a move at WP:RM, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 02:03, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 18 November 2017[edit]

The result of the move request was: Closing as nothing to contest over - MOS:CAPS says it all –Davey2010Talk 20:03, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bristol Bus StationBristol bus station – No need for caps - All other bus stations go by lowercase. –Davey2010Talk 02:04, 18 November 2017 (UTC) –Davey2010Talk 02:04, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthony Appleyard (talkcontribs) 19:12, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it was contested. Was listed as contested by me, but I didn't. This is the kind of correction-of-overcapitalization request that's become routine, despite some tendentious opposition from certain railfans.  — SMcCandlish ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ʌ<  19:19, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per MOS:CAPS, WP:NCCAPS, and lots of precedent. We've been down-casing overcapitalized station articles for a couple of years now.  — SMcCandlish ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ʌ<  19:12, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • SMcCandlish - Could I ask why you've set this RM up ? ... It doesn't make sense for you to essentially contest it and then support it anyway ? .... If it's a consensus thing then those who disliked it would be told to "go away" in less polite terms .... Not having a go but I'm not seeing the logic behind this, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 19:43, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I neither contested it nor set it up. Anthony Appleyard set it up, on the wrong page (at the redirect talk page Talk:Bristol Bus Station), saying I'd contested it, but I did not contest it, and agree that it's a routine move. I think it was just some kind of error, and I moved it to the correct page and supported the proposed move. I don't care if the RM is closed early, or runs the full course, since the outcome is obvious either way.  — SMcCandlish ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ʌ<  19:55, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ah right in that case my apologies, Well I'm not sure why they contested but there's obviously nothing to contest so I'm wrapping this up - Thanks for your help in moving the RM and commenting :), –Davey2010Talk 20:03, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
