NPOV tag

[edit]

This article uses phrases like "notorious" and "left-wing, activist." While I disagree with Britta Böhler's views, I think that an accurate description of them would not contain loaded words like these.

Whilst I see that notorious could possibly be misinterpreted, I disagree with the qualification of 'left-wing' and 'activist' to be NPOV. She herself used these words on many occasions, furthermore I do not neccessarily see how these words carry a negative (or positive for that matter) connotation. They simply describe her views.

As to notorious; I specifically chose notorious since she is widely known and she generally elicits a rather negative response (justified or not). Personally I have a neutral stance on her views, in essence she does nothing else than a lawyer who defends people that are obviously guilty but still deserve legal council under the rule of law. She, however defends people that are 'famous'. This automatically elicits a negative reponse among the populace. That is a fact, not a pleasant one but a fact nonetheless. Feel free to clarify if neccessary. Chelman 18:07, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

As to left wing and activist. See the bio on the following page:

http://www.novatv.nl/index.cfm?LN=nl&FUSEACTION=biografieen.details&BIOGRAFIE_ID=294

This is from a Dutch Actuality TV show. The terms are used there as well. Furthermore they quote Bohler as saying that she supported the ideals of the Rote Armee Faktion. I believe that the RAF can certainly be considered a left-wing organisation. Chelman 18:14, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I changed notorious to controversial and expanded the bio. I removed the NPOV tag since no potentially offending statements remain. Chelman 12:04, 31 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
