It would be great...

[edit]

It would be great to have a complete list of the shows that were put on in BAG with many more names of key activists.

and some images... (see below and new archive link) Szczels (talk) 16:34, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

and more context e.g. Cooltan Arts, The Black Art Gallery called?

Fame

[edit]

Several artists who appeared at BAG later went on to make it big in the art world. Often they had to hide their early history of exhibiting in BAG because the shows weren't properly 'selected'. It would be interesting to include some of these names who probably have Wikipedia pages. e.g. Rasheed Araeen Mona Hatoum Rotimi Fani-Kayode

Context

[edit]

I 'll write a contextual intro soon if Andrew doesn't do it first,... Szczels (talk) 22:31, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew has done it first http://brixton50.co.uk/ so if anyone would like to do a paraphrase for Wikipedia the material is now available at long last Szczels (talk) 16:33, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The current archival research undertaken by a small group of Brixton Artists Collective 1983 - 1986 is shown via the new links. Hopefully much new material is now available on this important part of London art history. See also Dark Matter by Greg Sholette. Szczels (talk) 20:09, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A comprehensive collection of archive materials on Brixton Artists Collective 1983 - 87 is now held by Tate Archive, London and is available for public perusal by appointement. Szczels (talk) 20:27, 26 January 2014 (UTC) (PS not yet available via the online catalogue...)[reply]

...then you'd better get cracking writing the book ;) Sionk (talk) 20:51, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
