Eyes

Brock's eyes are unique. Does anyone know why? Teentitans! —Preceding undated comment added 19:46, 17 August 2005 (UTC)

Artist's license. There's no canon reason, and nobody ever calls attention to it, so his eyes just look like that, for the same reason Misty's hair looks like it does. It just does. - A Man In Black (Talk | Contribs) 19:53, 17 August 2005 (UTC)

Hmm. I wonder how Brock see. He never opened his eyes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Das cool (talkcontribs) 12:44, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Diversity, perhaps...There's no designated reason, sorry. Likewise, other characters also have various traits. One might ask why Nurse Joy's hair is pink. Michael 00:25, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Spoiler Brock opened his eyes in this episode. [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Das cool (talkcontribs) 23:13, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

They're called kitsune eyes, right? Lots of anime characters have them. Then again, he had those before he ever got a kitsune pokémon... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.73.48.43 (talk) 01:05, 6 December 2006 (UTC).

When he's flirting with a girl, (once in the D/P episodes) his eyes were sparkling. Im not sure if he opened his eyes or what. And im not sure if the episode was "a staravia is born" or "oh, do you know the poffen plan". my guess is "a staravia is born". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.223.131.104 (talk) 18:14, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Brock's Pokémon

Please argue here about whether or not to have a list of Brock's Pokémon. Enough reverting back and forth. - A Man In Black (Talk | Contribs) 05:42, 10 September 2005 (UTC)

It's huge and ugly. - A Link to the Past (talk) 06:35, September 10, 2005 (UTC)
I think that we should keep the list, but remove the pictures entirely, I removed the picture of tauros, seeing as it isn't necessary, considering it is mentioned so few times. Bobcheezy 14:36, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Brock Harrison

According to imdb, Brock's last name is Harrison. Can anyone confirm that? - Plau

Manga

How is Brock in the manga version? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.16.22.253 (talk) 02:21, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Brock's Mother

Recently they showed Brock's mother with his pokemon Ludicolo and siblings. This has to be a mistake on the writer's behalf because his mother died leaving him to take care of his brother and sisters. Yami 04:07, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

  • Blame 4Kids. His mother actually ran away from home, but 4Kids didn't like that, and thus had the dub say that she died. Apparently a deadbeat dad is okay, but not a deadbeat mom. Redxiv 02:15, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Speaking of his mom, her reproductive period must be that of a rabbit.. Takeshi has 10 siblings all between the apparent age of 7 and 3, all clearly by the same father (maybe some of them aren't hers? That could explain why she ran off). I mean, the youngest ones can speak coherently, and the oldest are still head and shoulders shorter than the 10/11 year old Haruka and Satoshi... Hmm.. Maybe I'm thinking too hard into this.. ^^' I suppose there could be 5 sets of fraternal twins... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.73.48.43 (talk) 01:11, 6 December 2006 (UTC).

Wait! It said that brocks "mother' tried to turn the rock gym into a water gym, but wouldn't that be agenst the law, because Misty has a water gym, and every region has different type gyms, not one the same. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.223.131.104 (talk) 18:19, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Running Gags

Who keeps doing this? "...forced retreat by Misty (and later on, May), often by the ear.". It's Max who stops Brock from going after girls, not May. Brock0820 09:29, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Brock's list of "Stop Brock from swooning over girls" people: 1. Misty 2. MAY 3.Max 4.Bonsly 5.Croagunk May used to pull him away BEFORE Max. I geuss Max started doing it because it looked like May was jealous —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.224.11.162 (talkcontribs)

Dawn pushed him agenst a tree once in one of the Eterna Forest episods because she was getting tired of it. (brock had flitted with girls almost all episode) And What was May jealous of? not getting hitted on by boys? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.223.131.104 (talk) 18:22, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Removal of images

I'm having some thoughts about the removal of ALL of the pokemon images. Maybe we should keep the pictures of his current pokemon. Bobcheezy 04:29, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

No. Generic Pokémon images have nothing to do in a character article. Add screenshots of Brock's Pokémon if you want to. The Raven's Apprentice (Talk|Contribs) 14:19, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Brock's Marshtomp

Why is there no mention of his Marshtomp? I'm 99% sure that he has one, and yet there is nothing about it on here... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.34.59.138 (talkcontribs)

Somebody inexplicably removed the info. Anyway, I've put it back up. The Raven's Apprentice (Talk|Contribs) 06:39, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Vandisism

I noticed that someone keeps putting something like "Brock died by kissing a boy."

Someone remove that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.60.73.171 (talk) 08:03, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

I think Brock is still alive. Maybe the poster meant he is dead in spirit. He is voiced by a new person, and he is not the same as he used to be. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PikachuSnowman (talkcontribs) 06:29, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Changes

Someone keeps reverting my edits to this page. Please do not unless you have agood reason.--70.162.46.19 18:03, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm that someone. Your changes are essentially pointless, and, as I said in an edit summary, he's famous as the guy from the anime, not some obscure Gym Leader. The anime takes priority. --The Raven's Apprentice(Profile|PokéNav|Trainer Card) 16:14, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

I see your point. i wont do that anymore.--70.162.46.19 01:04, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Cheers. --The Raven's Apprentice(Profile|PokéNav|Trainer Card) 14:22, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Tauros

It should be added that Brock has caught a Tauros in the Safari Zone episode that was banned in the United States. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.24.20.100 (talk)

Cruft. Only appeared in one episode. --The Raven's Apprentice (PokéNav|Trainer Card) 16:01, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

He still caught one though. For the sake of official information, it should be added somewhere, as well as for the other characters. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.24.20.100 (talk)

Please sign your comments on Talk Pages! And Wikipedia's not an indiscriminate collection of information. Ash's article doesn't mention Raticate or Seaking, TR's article doesn't mention the Magikarp salesman's various Pokmon. But I see we're the only people debating this out here, so unless someone else opposes, you can add a "Fate unknown" subheader under "Pokémon" and list Tauros. --The Raven's Apprentice (PokéNav|Trainer Card) 14:48, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
I did, but it kind of got deleted.72.24.20.100 (talk)
Hmmmmm, i deleted it pending discussion. But a one on one conversation can't be a discusion, so I'm restoring that. Cheers, The Raven's Apprentice (PokéNav|Trainer Card) 05:22, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
I think it should be just removed from the article, or left as a footnote to explain why it's not on there. It's important to note that, while Brock threw the ball and made the capture, he used Ash's Safari Ball to do it, meaning the Tauros is one of the 30 belonging to Ash. --Jaydeis 23:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Yes, if Tauros is to be included the fact that it belongs to Ash should be there as well. --CRtwenty 02:11, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
It's not a fact.Darth G 04:53, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Brock caught a Tauros. What does it matter if he has ever used it? The fact remains that he caught it, and there is no reason for it not to be included. Whoever throws the Poke Ball catches the Pokemon. MelicansMatkin (talk) 05:41, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

The exact number of Tauros that Ash owns was never explicitly stated. Bulbapedia and Serebii aren't reliable sources, guys. Source the episode before reverting. Don't turn it into an edit war. MelicansMatkin (talk) 18:50, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Guys, The entire thing about Brock's Tauros is a controversy. Besides, That Safari Ball was from Ash's collection, I don't think Misty or Brock even GOT a set of their own. Plus, just because he throws a poke-ball at a Tauros doesn't mean it's his, I mean, Look at Vulpix: he caught it with a poke-ball, and even HE acknowleged that it was never his to begin with.

Chimchar?

In the section about Brock's Pokémon, it states he will later catch a Chimchar. Is this true or just speculation? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.225.211.5 (talk) 23:12, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

No, paul gets rid of his so Ash catches it because he feels sorry for it, with all that hard mean training from Paul. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.223.131.104 (talk) 18:25, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

I guess someone added that, thinking that Brock would get the Chimchar, making Dawn, Ash, and Brock each own one of the the Sinnoh Starters. (Seeing how that was the case during the Advanced Generation) --24.47.185.43 (talk) 19:32, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Current and past Pokémon

Please do not re-add lists of current, past, or on-hand Pokémon that Brock has. A precedent has been set at Ash Ketchum that these details are not notable enough to warrant inclusion in the article. Useight (talk) 07:45, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Caesar Salad

Brock's cover name of Caesar Salad must be mentioned. At the very least, when someone searches for Ceasar Salad, they should be given the option of visiting Brock's page.PikachuSnowman (talk) 06:32, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

What? MelicansMatkin (talk) 02:06, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Brock once hid his real name by stating that his name was Caesar Salad.PikachuSnowman (talk) 17:17, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
I remember that in the anime and it was completely nonnotable and does not warrant mention in this article. Artichoker[talk] 18:08, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
It must have made an impression on you if you remember it.PikachuSnowman (talk) 20:44, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Brock said his name was Caesar Salad? That's awesome. Useight (talk) 21:45, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
I agree! Watch episode 42 to hear Ash and Misty's cover names as well!PikachuSnowman (talk) 22:09, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I believe Ash Ketchum was Ketchup, Misty was V8, and Brock was Caesar Salad. Good episode (when I was a kid) but still non-notable. Artichoker[talk] 01:19, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
This is the reason Wikipedia needs these names on the website. You got the other two wrong. Ash was Tom Ato, and Misty was Ann Chovy!PikachuSnowman (talk) 03:48, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry? What exactly is the reason these names are needed? Artichoker[talk] 02:12, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
The reason I said "What?" in italics is because it just seems so absurd. So somebody goes to search for Caesar Salad, and they get a redirect to this page? I'm sorry, but that is just way too obscure and trivial to even consider warranting a mention. It was used in one episode ten years ago, and was used perhaps three times in the course of that episode. I'm not trying to be insulting, but it's not noteworthy in the least. MelicansMatkin (talk) 02:51, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Brock From the Original Series

On Ash Ketchum's page there is an image of Ash wearing his original dressings. Brock needs an image of his original dressings.PikachuSnowman (talk) 06:52, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

No he doesn't, that would violate WP:FUC. Artichoker[talk] 18:09, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
even if it were to violate that rule, why is it that everyone seemed to be turning a blind eye towards Ash? I mean, if that rule applies, that ALSO means that he shouldn't have his original clothes on there, either. ~~Weedle_McHairybug~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.32.138.61 (talk) 02:05, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

WHAT?!?!

Why the hell is the name of this article "Brock (Pokemon)"?!?! PH1REcoil (talk) 00:45, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Because he's from the Pokémon franchise. Useight (talk) 01:41, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Expanding the article.

Regarding this edit. I got this from Bulbapedia. I will try and reference some of it later. I brought you here to ask to add something. An interview with Hidaka about Brock's short absence from the anime. This is what Bulbapedia has on the subject.

There had been some debate between members of the fanbase in regards to why Brock was removed from the main cast during the Orange Islands arc, why Tracey Sketchit was created, and why Brock returned later. In a recent interview with former Pokémon anime director and storyboard artist Masamitsu Hidaka, he stated his own reason why Brock was removed from the cast and why he eventually returned. He (or, rather his translator) revealed that the true reason they replaced Brock is because, once they realized Pokémon was going global, there was a chance that Americans, if not anyone else outside of Japan, would view Brock as a racist stereotype because of his eyes (even though there wasn't an actual complaint yet). So they created a "tall, anglo-saxon looking person to be on the safe side". They later replaced Tracey with Brock again once they realized that no one really cared as to what Brock looks like, and actually enjoyed his character. However, this was only stated by Hidaka and not by any other staff member.

The interview was only on PokeBeach, so I imagine it would be hard to get it referenced by a real source. It would be an AMAZING thing to add to the article though. Anybody have any ideas? --Blake (talk) 01:43, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

There is some need for cleaning up vandalism.

There seems to me quite a bit of vandalism on the page.

"His blue shoes are his main way of flying his gang colors."

Also the line "Brock is actually Black with fair skin." is unconfirmed and should probably be removed as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vladashram (talkcontribs) 06:06, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

"His blue shoes are his main way of flying his gang colors"

This is completely untrue. Please remove promptly.

Request to remove repeated text

The text under the "Characteristics" header has been repeated at the end. Please remove the repeated text. The repeated text is exactly at the end of the "Characteristics" section (before the "Relationships" subsection), and, reads: " Next to actual adult characters, however, it is clear that he is still a teenager. Not counting temporary outfits, he has worn three different outfits over the span of the anime, all of which have had the colors orange, green, and brown, with blue shoes. His goals have played a passive role in his character's activity and development. Unlike other characters, who aspire to achieve and excel in competitive fields like Pokémon Training and Pokémon Contests, his aim to become a great Pokémon Breeder is a quiet one and thus does not get showcased frequently. His other goal is to find a girlfriend. " Cookiecrumbzz (talk) 10:04, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
