Best Article Ever

Best.Article.Ever. This article got 20% cooler in ten second flat! --74.103.156.122 (talk) 17:59, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this be broken into a disambiguation page to separate out the my little pony bronies?99.89.56.13 (talk) 20:17, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it should. I don't know how that works, though. Frubban (talk) 14:33, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Added a section header here to satisfy my need for proper formatting. Oh, and with the new Bronies page, you could even say that the Brony has been doubled. Marechal Ney (talk) 07:23, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

[edit]

There have been many other internet slang documented in Wikipedia. For example, Redditor for Reddit, Goon for Something Awful, /b/tard for 4chan's /b/. "Brony" doesn't have to be its own page, but the disambiguation can simply link to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic#Internet_following. Considering the alternative is an extremely small city in the middle of Poland, most people who search for "Brony" will be more likely to have been searching for My Little Pony (as seen with the recent vandalism). --ExBoop (talk) 13:10, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I actually agree about having a note at the top of the page. But as pointed out a separate disambiguation page isn't really necessary. Sowsnek (talk) 13:14, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Is it better to link to the village in the My Little Pony article, or vice versa? I think it would be better to put a link to MLP:FIM at the top of the village article, because in the MLP:FIM article there is no definitive spot for "bronies," and otherwise would look out of place. --ExBoop (talk) 13:24, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Right, I meant have a link at the top of this article and nix the disambiguation page. There's no point in having the show page link here because the term won't redirect there and like you said no one's going to be looking for this place anyway. Sowsnek (talk) 13:32, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. There can be a disambiguation page once there's a third use for "brony" (I've never seen one with just two links, anyway). Now, are you actually able to edit the page, or do we have to wait three days? --ExBoop (talk) 13:40, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see you've already done it. That should clear everything up, as bronies links to the MLP:FIM page, too. Thanks. --ExBoop (talk) 13:42, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You mean...their fandom article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.67.171.112 (talk) 19:56, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to help. Next time hopefully someone can leave me (or whoever) a message rather than picking on the poor Polish people. ;) Sowsnek (talk) 13:50, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Following this discussion, I have jumped the gun and deleted the unnecessary disambiguation page (which had just been PRODed by one Jimbo Wales) and renamed this one. Favonian (talk) 14:07, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a little late to the party, but wouldn't it make much more sense to link people directly to the brony section of the FIM article, and at the top of that section (or the page), there'd be a link to Brony, Poland? If more people come to this page actually looking for this exact page than for a fandom, I would be so surprised my heart would skip a beat.24.136.244.60 (talk) 20:50, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have live in Brony of Polska in past, what is my litle ponies? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.214.184.231 (talk) 11:38, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How can a place with a population of 80 people even be notable enough for Wikipedia? This isn't an atlas or whatever as far as I know, and there isn't anything besides basic geographic and demographic information on the page... ~Bobogoobo (talk) 01:30, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are tens of thousands of "Polish village" articles on Wikipedia. Most of them were created by a bot that pulled data from certain databases and formed it into an article. As the bot's importing was approved by Wikipedia editors, I don't feel that we can suddenly impose conditions on what makes the cut. Although hamlets like Brony certainly aren't notable, there's not much we can do.
By the way, I looked at the article stats on http://stats.grok.se (a website that graphs hits on articles). Prior to the airing of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", this page got about 5-6 views a day. The upward climb in views began the day the television show premiered (October 10th, 2010). And now, it receives about 100 views a day. It's only really viewed because of the television fandom. Marechal Ney (talk) 07:18, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
