Future plans[edit]

Am I correct in recalling that there is a long term plan to upgrade this to become the primary east-west artery? I had thought that somewhere in the distant future it was going to be extended past Wave Rock to come out somewhere near Norseman, bypassing Southern Cross & Kalgoorlie.
