Mistake in Synthesis Image?

[edit]

In all of the examples I have seen, P2S5 converts the amide to a thioamide, not a thiol. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.30.243.179 (talk) 20:28, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In this image in this article, P2S5 does convert an amide into a thioamide. The thioamide is just drawn as the tautomer which has a C=N double bond/C-S single bond, rather than the more common C=S double bond/C-N single bond. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:09, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
