Re: Deletion notice: if the film is "non-notable' why then is there a category for "films by Bruce LaBruce"? Is there a subtitle I've missed which says, "Category for only SOME of Bruce LaBruce's films"? Isn't this category intended for all of his films? The fact there IS a category called "films by Bruce LaBruce" implies that ALL his films are notable and important: not just one or two of them. Although the appeal and audiences for such film may not be large, in the genres they fall under, such as Queer Cinema, or Canadian film, or Queercore, they are notable and important. Notability is established by meeting the criteria in WP:NOTFILM. There is nothing in that criteria that specifies the film is notable if there is a category for the films. ttonyb (talk) 05:38, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to the guidelines for notability:

  • The film was given a commercial re-release, or screened in a festival, at least five years after initial release.

This film has been shown as recently as this year, 2010, in Berlin, Germany, New York City, NY, USA, and Toronto, Ontario, Canada, approximately twenty years after it was first released. Moreover, it is routinely screened in museums and art galleries and at film festivals around the world. Therefore, according to WP guidelines, it meets the criteria for notability. I would like to do this:

  • You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {dated prod} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on [[Talk:{{{1}}}|the article's talk page]].

According to the guidelines, I may remove the "{date prod} notice". Having tried to do so unsuccessfully, I would request that any editor who is familiar with the procedure please do so. Reasons are contained in the above messages. Thank you. Intheshadows (talk) 06:54, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have done that for you. If possible, please provide numerous source to verify the content of the article.--Commander Keane (talk) 07:07, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
